Almost from the start she proved to be a dead shot. After winning a shooting contest with a noted marksman, Frank Butler, he fell in love with her and they later married. He became her manager and they joined Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show in 1885. Her marksmanship with a rifle or shotgun gained her worldwide fame.
