Wheeler is located east of Amarillo between Canadian and Shamrock along US Highway 83 near the North Fork of the Red River and the Texas/Oklahoma state line. Wheeler Municipal Airport serves Wheeler and Wheeler County and is owned by the City Of Wheeler TX. The paved runway extends for 3500 feet. The facility is at an elevation of 2468 feet at a distance of about 4 miles from Wheeler.
